Word Counter is a simple addon that help you get the number of words in a text selection via context-menu. Simply select a text with mouse, then right click and select - Word Counter - from the. Look I like this addon, don't get me wrong, but it has some serious bugs. I just did 700 words because I had to cut something from one section and move it somewhere else, and now your app is reporting that I've done 700 wpm and my overall daily effort is -180. Clearly that's not right.

Review:
Word Count adds an option to your context menu (i.e. the right-click menu) that counts the number of words in text that you have selected. That's it!Word Count was designed to be small and unobtrusive. Install it an don't worry about it until you need it. To use Word Count, select text on a webpage, right-click (or Ctrl+click on Mac), and select 'Count words'.

In Microsoft Word, you can easily count the total number of words and characters by highlighting some text in your document. However, it’s not the same in Chrome. You may use a third-party online word counter but the tool itself must be opened in a new tab. If you want a more efficient alternative, you may consider adding a word and character count option to your browser’s context menu.
Just read the steps listed below to learn how.
How to count the total number of words and characters of your selected text in Chrome
- Click here to download and install “Characters and words counter”, a free Chrome browser extension.
- Once installed, find the extension’s shortcut icon on your browser’s omnibar. Right-click on it and on the menu that appears, click “Options”.
- On the options tab, select the type of count that you wish to display on the extension’s icon. You may choose to display the word count, character count or characters without spaces count.
